What is the Smallest Whale?

The smallest whale

The Dwarf Sperm Whale (Kogia sima) is considered to be the smallest whale. It is not the smallest cetacean, but it is the smallest from those cetaceans considered whales. It should not be confused with the Pygmy Sperm Whale, also a small whale and member of the sperm whale family.

The Dwarf Sperm Whale measure up to 2.5 meters long (8 feet) in length and they can weigh up to 550 lb.

According to IUCN Red List, the Dwarf Sperm Whale is data deficient as there is not enough information to determine the available population left of this cetacean.
